MeetMouse vs Zoom AI Companion
Disclosure: MeetMouse is mine. And Zoom AI Companion is the easiest recommendation on this site if you host on Zoom — you're already paying for it.
| MeetMouse | Zoom AI Companion | |
|---|---|---|
| Job | Live coaching; notes after | Summaries inside Zoom |
| Price | Free (3 meetings/week); $20 once for unlimited | Included with paid Zoom plans |
| Works in meetings you don't host | Yes | Host decides |
| Works outside Zoom | Yes — any app on your Mac | No |
| Where your meeting goes | Stays on your Mac by default | Zoom's cloud |
| Coaches you during the call | Yes | No |
Where Zoom AI Companion wins
You already have it: no install, no extra cost on a paid plan.
Built into Zoom, so it knows who's in the meeting. And it runs everywhere Zoom does; MeetMouse is Mac-only.
Where MeetMouse wins
Other people's meetings: a client's Zoom, a Teams call, a FaceTime. It works anywhere you can hear.
Live coaching. A summary doesn't stop you from monologuing. A cue does.
Nothing uploaded to Zoom's cloud or anyone else's.
My honest verdict
Host on paid Zoom and want summaries? Turn on AI Companion. Want help in the meeting itself? MeetMouse.
