Fathom pricing in 2026: what the free plan gets you, and what teams pay

Full disclosure: I make MeetMouse, which competes with Fathom. I also think Fathom's free plan is the best free notetaker out there, and I say that on every page. Here's exactly what it costs, read off fathom.ai on October 20, 2026.

Download MeetMouse freeFree for 3 meetings a week. No bot, and your meeting stays on your Mac.

Most people searching Fathom's pricing are asking one of two questions: is the free plan actually free, or what will this cost my team. Both have clean answers.

Every Fathom plan

PlanMonthlyBilled annuallyWhat you get
Free$0$0Unlimited recordings and transcripts, instant AI summaries, clips, playlists and search across calls. Bot-free capture in beta or a bot
Premium (one person)$20$16Free, plus advanced summaries, AI action items, Ask Fathom (chat with your meetings) and a custom meeting bot
Team (2-seat minimum)$19/user$15/userUnlimited meetings with instant summaries, AI action items, Ask Fathom, shared playlists of highlights, comments, folders, keyword alerts
Business (2-seat minimum)$34/user$25/userTeam, plus CRM field sync, Deal View, coaching metrics and AI scorecards
EnterpriseTalk to salesTalk to salesCustom data retention, provisioning, dedicated support

Yes, Team is cheaper per seat than Premium. That's because Team needs at least two seats. If it's just you, Premium is the plan; if there are two of you, Team at $38 a month beats two Premium seats at $40.

What the free plan is good enough for

Honestly, most individuals. Unlimited recordings with a decent summary after every call is more than Otter's free plan (300 minutes a month, 30 minutes per conversation) or Granola's (30 days of history) give you. If you take a handful of calls a week and want a record, stop reading and sign up.

You'd pay for Premium if you want the better summaries and action items, or you want to ask questions across your calls. You'd pay for Team or Business when other people need to see your calls.

What a team actually pays

Team sizeTeam, monthlyTeam, annualBusiness, monthlyBusiness, annual
5 people$95/mo$75/mo$170/mo$125/mo
10 people$190/mo$150/mo$340/mo$250/mo
25 people$475/mo$375/mo$850/mo$625/mo

This is the moment people start looking around. Not because Fathom got worse, but because a free tool became a $10,000-a-year line item once the sales team got on Business.

The costs that aren't on the pricing page

The bot. By default a Fathom bot joins every call. Most people don't care. Some guests do, and you won't always know which ones. Fathom lists bot-free capture as a beta, which is worth checking if this is your only complaint.

The cloud. Every recording lives on Fathom's servers. For a lot of calls that's fine. For client, candidate, legal or medical conversations, it's a question your company should answer before you hit record.

When I'd pick something else

If the bot or the cloud is the problem, MeetMouse is the one I built: it listens on your Mac, so nothing joins the call, and transcription and AI run locally. It also nudges you during the call (talk less, land the ask), which no summary does. Free for 3 meetings a week; $20 once for unlimited. It's per person with no team workspace, so it doesn't replace Fathom Business for a sales org.

Questions

Is Fathom really free?
Yes, for individuals. The free plan records and transcribes unlimited calls and gives you instant AI summaries, clips and search across calls. Advanced summaries, AI action items and Ask Fathom are on Premium at $20 a month.
How much does Fathom cost for a team?
Team is $19 per user per month billed monthly, or $15 billed annually, with a 2-seat minimum. Business, which adds CRM field sync, Deal View and AI scorecards, is $34 per user monthly or $25 annually. Ten people on Team cost about $190 a month; on Business about $340.
Does Fathom have a bot-free option?
Fathom's pricing page lists a choice of bot-free capture (in beta) or bot capture on the free plan. By default a Fathom bot joins the call. Check the current state of the beta before you count on it.
What's cheaper than Fathom?
For one person, nothing beats free. For a team, the per-seat bill is what grows. MeetMouse is per person, free for 3 meetings a week, and $20 once for unlimited, but it has no team workspace or CRM sync. It keeps meetings on your Mac instead of in a cloud.
